Green Ice rose

Rose growers do not often favor miniature roses, but the wonderful rose known as Green Ice is an exception. The buds of this tiny rose are delicately pink, and the newly opened flower also has a pink hue. The fully double blooms appear in small clusters, usually 3-7 blooms, and they harmonize beautifully with the dark, glossy foliage.

Description

As the flowers age, they turn white and then acquire a greenish shade. The striking green color is best displayed when “Green Ice” is grown in partial shade. Often, you can observe pink, white, and greenish flowers simultaneously on the same bush. The flowers are flat, densely petalled, and in an old-fashioned style. They form a rosette shape with a green button in the center.

Considering that “Green Ice” is a miniature rose, its bush reaches a height of up to 45 cm and spreads up to 80 cm wide. The leaves are abundant, light green, leathery, glossy, and healthy. The blooming is great. Therefore, this variety is excellent for rock gardens, hanging pots, vases, and as a ground-covering rose. It is convenient to use it to cover the “legs” of other plants or create separate white clusters.

The plant is disease-resistant and can do without spraying in a southern garden. It blooms profusely in early summer with subsequent good repeat waves in summer and autumn. This compact, easy-to-care-for rose is suitable for beginners. Deadheading stimulates repeat blooming.
