Donna Marella Agnelli
The Donna Marella Agnelli rose features large flowers of delicate pearl pink color. The bush is lightly foliated, with solitary (most often) flowers at the ends of long stems, but there are many stems. New shoots quickly grow after pruning the faded flowers, and the rose blooms repeatedly. The flowers also retain their beauty when cut. The flower boasts a beautiful color and an elegant conical form typical of many hybrid tea roses. The buds have a rich pink color and elongated shape, then as they open, the rose lightens, and when fully bloomed, it takes on a deep cupped form, almost becoming white.
The hybrid tea rose Donna Marella Agnelli is named after Marella Caracciolo di Castagneto (1927-2019), a photographer, designer, socialite, avid gardener, and the widow of Gianni Agnelli. Ms. Marella Agnelli personally chose the new rose to be named after her. The refined aristocrat with a swan-like neck and the elegant, delicate rose on a long stem… One could say the beautiful lady resembles a flower, or the flower resembles a beautiful woman.
