Description
The buds are classic, elegant, and conical. Large, thick petals open slowly. When fully open, the outer petals are darkest, while the petals closer to the center have a brighter raspberry hue. Sometimes, they acquire a purple tinge. The flowers, mostly on long stems, are almost always solitary and are excellent for cutting, lasting a long time in water. The fragrance is strong and sweet.
The foliage is dark red when young and becomes rich, green, and dense as it matures. The plant is vigorous and upright and tends to stretch upward in hot climates, where low-growing shading plants are often planted nearby to cover the “legs.”
Overall, “Mister Lincoln” is resistant to diseases, except for susceptibility to black spot disease. The rose withstands summer heat well and is known as the “California Drought-Resistant Rose.”
